Lazy Sunday

The weather forecast predicted was for a sunny day here in the Central West but the clouds have rolled in over night and bought with it more rain. The perfect day for hibernating indoors watching Anne of Green Gables with the girls while all the boys are away. Just have to fit in the washing, house cleaning and a bit of creativity and it should be a relaxing day. Hope you are having a lovely Sunday too.

It's a Tragedy!

It's a tragedy that I leave this blog for so long before I write in it and there really is no excuse. I have had a lovely distraction for the last 11+mths with the arrival of Miss Emilee she has definitely kept us busy!

We are moving again this year back to the Hunter, seem to keep going around in circles. Orange is a beautiful town but it is time to head back so we are now on the search for a bit of a fixer upper that we will spend the next few years in before taking that next step for our future. Will be hard to leave our lovely house here but very exciting as well.

So I suppose we are on a new journey and somewhere in amongst that I would like to find the time to write and be creative plus get fit!! Bring it on...

June Long Weekend

Long gone is the day when the June Long Weekend meant Bonfire and fire crackers, days that I miss and wish my children were able to experience them. We spent the weekend with our gorgeous daughter and her handsome husband here at home, it is always a joy to have them in our company. The wedding album came on the journey with them and with so many lovely photos to choose from I am sure it will take some time to finally decide our favourites!

The weather has been quite chilly here in the Central Tablelands - including some sub zero temps, but at the same time absolutely glorious with crisp, sunny days and cold nights. Sunday was spent travelling to Young to visit extended family where we also took the opportunity to attend Iandra Castle Open Day. Such a site to behold and even more important to us as descendents of our family are heavily ensconsed in the history of this beautiful building and surrounding farmlands. We were also able to visit the Chapel just up the road where my Great Grandparents are buried, next time I hope to go via the old family farm but this trip has opened the door to my children and their ancestors.

There are lots of questions being asked and researched at the moment and it is really exciting to see how my Mothers maternal and paternal families are involved. My girls have decided they would like to live there and seeing it used to be part of the family, they see no reason why it shouldn't be returned!! One day I hope to go again and stay for longer, there are parts of the Castle you can not enter and it would be great to see those areas. It definately was a busy place with lots of people taking advantage of the beautiful weather and being able to step back in time and see an important landmark. Forward thinkers in the Agricultural Industry they most certainly where.

The remainder of the weekend was just spend in each others company, delicious food devoured, movie marathons and relaxing. This week I am looking forward to hopefully finishing an item or two and of course catching up on the housework and gardening~

Wedding, New Endeavours!!

I really shouldn't neglect my blog the way I do, in all honesty it seems I spend far to much time on facebook but there is only so much to do and say over there. For those that may still be reading we have settled well in Orange, purchased a property in town (still hoping one day to have some land!!). Children are all settled and busy with school, dance and gym and me... well... I have been very slack with my sewing, still purchasing fabric but not much being made. Quilts previously mentioned on here are complete, really must take some photos. They just need to be backed!

We have had a busy year, my oldest daughter was married in March back in the Hunter Valley. It was a lovely wedding and may have contributed to the lack of sewing after my mother and I completed 3 Junior & 3 Bridesmaids dresses. My girls and my boy looked beautiful and handsome alongside my sister and neice!! Have added a couple of photos...

I am looking forward though to attending a workshop end of July with Kelly of Don't Look Now and Retro Mummy. The next few months are going to be rather busy as I have just started as an Independant Consultant with Oasis Homewares . I honestly did not think I would ever do party plan again in my lifetime but am really impressed with these products and the company itself. I am the only consultant in the Central West at this time so am looking forward to promoting Oasis in my own area.

In the meantime though I will endeavour to blog more often, even if there is no-one out there reading. As per usual I will be following the many blogs I already read and are continually inspired by.

Monday Magic

How cute are these backgrounds!! Am loving them definately makes life simple, hope you enjoy them too.

I haven't been very productive lately, still researching houses... Can't believe how small some bedrooms are. Will just have too keep looking until I find the right one.

I was able to check out some great shops today, Borders, Kikki K and another stationary shop sooo cute. Will definately have to go back and spend some more time there. Wanted to pick up my second block for my songbirds quilt but they were not available so hopefully later in the week. With the relocation (even if not for a while) and all that goes with it I would like to get on top of my quilting.

Were On The Move!!

Well its looking pretty official at this end... We are on the move!!

We are relocating to Orange NSW so there are some big changes in store for our family. The kids will see the school year out as hubby is able to go before us, staying with relatives!! Lots to do here to prepare the house for sale and the all important question - To Build? To Buy. Definately don't want to rent, far too expensive in this town.

In other news I have been busy in the last 24hrs sewing 60 camoflauge print bandannas for kids church... Started a new project about 2 weeks ago (as if I need another), colours are slightly different to the packet. Not quite so pink!

I have been inpsired over and over by my favourite blogs and finding more by the day, think I will have to set myself a challenge to complete some things and not let the move consume me!!!

Stitching and the Olympics sounds good but even better is stitching and Gilmore Girls season 6 & 7. Had some hand sewing to do today and planned to start watching and remembered the DVD player decided to quit on us this week - will definately have to sort this one out and soon.

I am heading off to Melbourne in 1mth & 4 days with three of my fav people, can't wait. No reason for the visit just felt like it... Look Out Melbourne here we come!!!

Wow, the holidays are disappearing so quickly. The kids were able to play in the snow during our recent visit to Orange, it was great to see the younger two experiencing something new - even if they were in their PJ's still!!

Not much happening on the creative front, but I am liking the idea of 'blog ready' so have taken photos of my I Remember quilt. It still needs a little more applique on the around the outside and of course backing.

I think I have gathered just about all the fabrics for my black/red/white quilt and hope to make a start on it soon. Have also purchased this cute apron pattern, couldn't resist it, now to find the time.

We are having a quiet day at home today, catching up on washing, playing monopoly (electronic) and hopefully doing some creating. Hope you all have a lovely weekend...
